Regular Season Round 25: Tofas - Trabzonspor 84-83

Fifteenth-ranked Trabzonspor (5-20) made lots of trouble for eighth ranked Tofas (12-13) in Bursa. Tofas managed to secure only one-point victory 84-83. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts were ahead by 9 points but lost the second period ending it with a 1-point deficit before their 21-19 run, which allowed them to win the game. Tofas made 26-of-34 charity shots (76.5 percent) during the game. Trabzonspor was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The game was dominated by American players. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Austin Nichols (198-82, college: Humboldt St.) who helped to win the game recording 23 points. Forward Bradley Buckman (203-84, college: Texas) contributed with 11 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four Tofas players scored in double figures. Center Elton Brown (206-83, college: Virginia) answered with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Jonathan Gibson (182-87, college: N.Mexico St.) added 26 points and 5 assists (made all of his thirteen free throws !!!) in the effort for Trabzonspor. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Tofas moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Aliaga. Trabzonspor lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fifteenth position with 20 games lost. Tofas will play against Antalya (#14) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Trabzonspor will play against Karsiyaka and hopes to get back on the winning track.
