Not a big story in a game when 6th ranked Gaziantep (21-12) was defeated at home by third ranked Genc Telekom (24-9) 80-68 on Saturday. The game without a history. Genc Telekom led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. Gaziantep was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Point guard Can Ugur Ogut (178-92) scored 23 points and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and forward Hazer Avci (206-87, agency: Court Side) chipped in 13 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side guard Serhat Ugur (192-85) responded with 21 points and guard Erden Eryuz (188-80) scored 9 points and 5 rebounds. Gaziantep's coach Dogan Deniz rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Genc Telekom have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 24-9 record having just one points less than leader Optimum TED. Gaziantep lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh place with 12 games lost. Genc Telekom's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Ankara Baskent Genclik.
