Very predictable result when fourteenth ranked Pertevniyal (13-20) smashed at home bottom-ranked TED Istanbul (7-27) 89-68 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Pertevniyal. TED Istanbul was better in second period 21-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Pertevniyal made 7 blocks. American guard Myles McKay (193-86, college: WiscKing.-Whitew., agency: Two Points) scored 15 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Soykan Yikilmaz (185-92) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Pertevniyal moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Balikesir. Loser TED Istanbul stay dead last with 27 lost games. Pertevniyal will face higher ranked Final Genclik (#6) in Bursa in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. TED Istanbul will play at home against Akhisar Bld (#8).
