Seventeenth-ranked Baskent Genclik (11-23) gave a tough game to third ranked Genc Telekom (25-9) in Ankara on Wednesday. Genc Telekom managed to secure only two-point victory 71-69. However their fans expected much easier game. Baskent Genclik was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 17-13 charge of Genc Telekom, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great evening for Croatian power forward Nenad Delic (210-84, agency: TSS Management) who led his team to a victory scoring 28 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Sahin Ekmen (203-89) helped adding 16 points. American power forward Marquise Gray (206-86, college: Michigan St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds and forward Recai Ozturk (198-82) scored 19 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Baskent Genclik's coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Genc Telekom have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain third place with 25-9 record having just one points less than leader Optimum TED. Loser Baskent Genclik dropped to the nineteenth position with 23 games lost. Genc Telekom will face Pamukkale (#18) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Baskent Genclik will play against Gaziantep.
