A very interesting game took place in Istanbul. It ended with only one-point home defeat of higher ranked Istanbul B.B. (15-19) to nineteenth ranked Usak (12-22) 73-72 on Wednesday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Istanbul B.B.. The guests were ahead by 5 points but lost the second period ending it with a 2-point deficit before their 17-14 run, which allowed them to win the game. Center Cem Coskun (209-87) saved the victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. American guard Doneal Mack (196-87, college: Memphis) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Usak's coach Ozan Bulkaz allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Recep Dogrusoez (-86) answered with 15 points and 6 assists and guard Sezgin Eris (185-85) added 7 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Istanbul B.B.Four Istanbul B.B. players scored in double figures. Usak moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Istanbul B.B. at the other side keeps the ninth position with 19 games lost. Usak's next round opponent will be higher ranked Vestel (#4) in Manisa and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
