Regular Season Round 26: Turk Telekom - Galatasaray 74-82

TBL top team - Galatasaray (22-4) added another victory to their record. This time they beat ninth ranked Turk Telekom (11-15) in Ankara 82-74. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 26-14. But Turk Telekom won second period 20-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Galatasaray dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Turk Telekom's 36. International forward Furkan Aldemir (207-91, agency: Beo Basket) had a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward Huseyin Koeksal (195-91) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds during the contest (perfect from the field making all six shots). Galatasaray's coach Oktay Mahmudi used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. FYR Macedonian-American point guard Darius Washington (188-85, college: Memphis) responded with 14 points and 7 assists and American forward Ali Karadeniz (203-80, college: Arizona) scored 17 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Galatasaray have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 22-4 record, which they share with Anadolu Efes. Turk Telekom at the other side keeps the ninth place with 15 games lost. Galatasaray will play against Fenerbahce Ulker (#5) in Istanbul in the next round.
