Regular Season Round 32: Aviastar - Pulsar 62-85
Date: April 7, 2012
We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when fifth ranked BC-93 Pulsar (20-11) crushed one of their biggest challengers Aviastar (20-10) in Zaporozhye 85-62 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 51-25 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. BC-93 Pulsar shot 26 for 35 from the free-throw line, while Aviastar only scored ten points from the stripe. The winners were led by forward Evgen Korovyakov (197-88) who scored that evening 23 points and 7 rebounds and swingman Taras Lipin (185-93) supported him with 19 points and 4 assists. Four BC-93 Pulsar players scored in double figures. Even 12 points and 5 assists by the former international guard Vitaly Boyko (183-82) did not help to save the game for Aviastar. Forward Anton Buts (201-88) added 8 points and 8 rebounds for the hosts. Aviastar's coach Volodimir Sevastyanov already knew that his team would not have a big chance, so allowed to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. BC-93 Pulsar have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain fifth position with 20-11 record. Loser Aviastar keeps the fourth place with ten games lost. BC-93 Pulsar will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Aviastar will play again against BC-93 Pulsar (#5) in Rovno and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
