Important game to mention about took place in Akhisar. Sixth ranked Final Genclik (24-11) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 8th ranked Akhisar Bld (20-15) 94-92 on Saturday evening. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Akhisar Bld won third quarter 25-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Akhisar Bld 42-28 including 16 on the offensive glass. Final Genclik players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. The winners were led by point guard Esat Sinanoglu (188-82) who scored that evening 20 points and 8 assists and Cameroonian power forward Alfred Aboya (206-85, college: UCLA) supported him with 12 points and 14 rebounds. Even a double-double of 18 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists by American forward Tyrone Nelson (206-85, college: N.Mexico St.) did not help to save the game for Akhisar Bld. Forward Can Terzioglu (196-86) added 23 points and 4 steals. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Final Genclik have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Vestel and Maliye Milli. Akhisar Bld lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 15 games lost. Final Genclik will play against Balikesir (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Akhisar Bld will play against Orman Genc in Ankara and hopes to get back on the winning track.
