Fourteenth-ranked Halychyna (8-30) was very close to win a game against first ranked Budivelnyk (30-7) in Kyiv on Saturday. Budivelnyk managed to secure only two-point victory 89-87. However their fans expected much easier game. Halychyna was trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 30-26 charge of Budivelnyk, which allowed them to win the game. 26 personal fouls committed by Halychyna helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American point guard Jack McClinton (185-85, college: Miami, FL) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). The former international forward Andriy Agafonov (207-86, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 10 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Budivelnyk's coach Zvezdan Mitrovic used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game.
