There was no surprise when 20th ranked TED Istanbul (8-28) was defeated on the road by twelfth ranked Balikesir (15-20) 91-78 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Balikesir. TED Istanbul was better in second period 18-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 19-of-21 free shots (90.5 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Charles Jackson (203-87, college: Hawaii-Pacific, agency: Court Side) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 30 points and 11 rebounds and guard Yunus Akcay (-89) who added 20 points during the contest. Four Balikesir players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American point guard N'Gai Evans (188-88, college: Wright St.) with 21 points and his fellow American import forward Shawn Taggart (207-85, college: Memphis) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Balikesir moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Darussafaka and Istanbul B.B. Loser TED Istanbul stay dead last with 28 lost games. Balikesir will face higher ranked Final Genclik (#6) in Bursa in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. TED Istanbul will play at home against Usak (#16).
