No shocking result in a game when third ranked Ovarense (17-5) defeated at home 5th ranked CAB Madeira (13-9) 71-54. The game was mostly controlled by Ovarense. CAB Madeira was better in fourth quarter 15-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Ovarense dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to CAB Madeira's 24. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Christopher Lee (206-84, college: S.Carolina St., agency: SDJ Sports) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 10 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. The other American import forward Austen Powers (203-87, college: Seattle) contributed with 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Ovarense players scored in double figures. Ovarense's coach Mario Leite allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American power forward Shawn Jackson (203-71, college: Johnson C. Smith) replied with 11 points and 9 rebounds and the former international center Jorge Coelho (200-78) added 15 points in the effort for CAB Madeira. Ovarense have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 17-5 record having just three points less than leader Porto Ferpinta. CAB Madeira at the other side keeps the fifth place with nine games lost.
