Regular Season Round 22: Siauliai - Nevezis 92-80
Date: April 10, 2012
There was no surprise when 8th ranked Kedainiai (8-13) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Siauliai (15-6) 92-80. The game was mostly controlled by Siauliai. Kedainiai was better in fourth quarter 26-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Siauliai dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Kedainiai's 42. Center Vytautas Sarakauskas (204-82) notched a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and American guard Cam Long (193-88, college: George Mason, agency: KMG Sports Management) supported him with 18 points, 7 assists and 4 steals. Four Siauliai players scored in double figures. Even 19 points (made all of his eight free throws) by the former international point guard Vytenis Jasikevicius (187-85) did not help to save the game for Kedainiai. Center Egidijus Dimsa (205-85) added 12 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Siauliai have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Rudupis. Kedainiai at the other side keeps the eighth position with 13 games lost. Siauliai's next round opponent will be Baltai Kaunas (#7) on the road. Kedainiai will play against Lietkabelis in Panevezys.
