Regular Season Round 31: LTi 46ers - TBB Trier 80-66

There was a small surprise in Giessen where sixteenth ranked LTi 46ers (9-22) beat 14th ranked TBB Trier (10-21) 80-66 on Wednesday. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 43-27 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. LTi 46ers shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 63.6 percentage. It was a great evening for American guard Barry Stewart (191-88, college: Mississippi St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists (perfect behind the arc making all six shots !!!). His fellow American import guard Wayne Bernard (190-81, college: Davidson, agency: Interperformances) helped adding 22 points. Four LTi 46ers players scored in double figures. At the losing side the former international forward Philip Zwiener (198-85) responded with 14 points and the former international center Maik Zirbes (205-90) scored 11 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. LTi 46ers moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with EnBW L'burg. TBB Trier lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth position with 21 games lost. LTi 46ers will face higher ranked s Oliver Baskets (#6) in Wuerzburg in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
