Not a big story in a game in Bursa where 16th ranked Bandirma Kir. (3-24) was defeated by eighth ranked Tofas (13-14) 77-63 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Tofas. Bandirma Kir. was better in third quarter 22-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Bandirma Kir. 36-24 including 24 on the defensive glass. Tofas looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Bandirma Kir. was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American forward Bradley Buckman (203-84, college: Texas) who led his team to a victory scoring 12 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Inanc Koc (202-79) helped adding 8 points and 6 assists. Tofas' coach Nihat Izic used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was point guard Safak Edge (188-92) with 22 points and American center Gary McGhee (208-88, college: Pittsburgh) scored 11 points and 5 rebounds. Tofas moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Aliaga. Bandirma Kir. lost their sixth game in a row. Newly promoted team stay dead last with 24 lost games. Tofas will face higher ranked Besiktas (#4) in Istanbul in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Bandirma Kir. will play at home against Trabzonspor (#15) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
