Regular Season Round 31: Telekom Baskets - Walter Tigers 80-82

Important game to mention about took place in Bonn. Twelfth ranked Walter Tigers (14-17) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging higher ranked Telekom Baskets (15-15) 82-80 on Wednesday evening. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 24-16. But Telekom Baskets won second period 23-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for Walter Tigers especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 61.5 percentage. Telekom Baskets were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American guard Louis Campbell (190-79, college: Buffalo, agency: Pro One Sports) who led his team to a victory scoring 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. His fellow American import guard Reggie Redding (196-88, college: Villanova) helped adding 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Walter Tigers players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Tony Gaffney (204-84, college: Massachusetts) responded with 23 points and 7 rebounds and Lithuanian guard Benas Veikalas (192-83, college: Metro St.) scored 23 points and 5 assists. Telekom Baskets' coach Michael Koch let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Walter Tigers moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with EWE Baskets. Telekom Baskets lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with 15 games lost. Walter Tigers will face higher ranked ALBA Berlin (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
