Regular Season Round 27: Anadolu Efes - Besiktas 77-86
Date: April 12, 2012
The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Istanbul: Besiktas (#4) and Anadolu Efes (#2). Anadolu Efes was defeated at home 77-86 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Anadolu Efes. The game without a history. Besiktas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a great evening for naturalized American power forward Ersin Dagli (203-81, college: Alabama, agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds. Puerto Rican guard Carlos Arroyo (188-79, college: FIU) helped adding 18 points. The best for the losing side was Uruguayan power forward Esteban Batista (208-83, agency: Duran International) with 18 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!) and the former international guard Kerem Tunceri (190-79) scored 12 points and 9 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Anadolu Efes' coach Ilias Zouros rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Besiktas maintains fourth place with 20-7 record. Anadolu Efes at the other side keeps the second position with five games lost. They share it with Banvit BK. Besiktas are looking forward to face Tofas (#8) in Bursa in the next round. Anadolu Efes will play on the road against Turk Telekom (#11) in Ankara and is hoping to win this game.
