Regular Season Round 37: Final Genclik - Balikesir 73-85

There was a surprise result in Bursa where eleventh ranked Balikesir (16-20) defeated higher ranked Final Genclik (24-12) 85-73 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Balikesir. Final Genclik was better in third quarter 16-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American forward Charles Jackson (203-87, college: Hawaii-Pacific, agency: Court Side) fired a double-double by scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners. Guard Yunus Akcay (-89) chipped in 21 points and 6 assists. Forward Orcun Okkali (201-87) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Esat Sinanoglu (188-82) added 14 points and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Balikesir have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Gelisim. Loser Final Genclik dropped to the fifth position with 12 games lost. Balikesir will face Orman Genc (#17) in Ankara in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Final Genclik will play on the road against Usak (#15).
