Rather expected game in Quakenbrueck where 7th ranked New Yorker Phantoms (16-15) were rolled over by fourth ranked Artland Dragons (22-10) 101-80 on Saturday. Artland Dragons made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was American-Puerto Rican forward Nathan Peavy (203-85, college: Miami, OH) who scored 17 points and 6 assists. American guard David Holston (170-86, college: Chicago St.) chipped in 17 points and 7 assists. Five Artland Dragons players scored in double figures. Serbian forward Branko Jorovic (205-81, agency: Beo Basket) produced 15 points and 6 assists and American power forward Rich Melzer (203-79, college: Wisc.-RiverFal., agency: Court Side) added 18 points respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Artland Dragons maintains fourth position with 22-10 record. New Yorker Phantoms at the other side dropped to the eighth place with 15 games lost. Artland Dragons will face Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (#10) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. New Yorker Phantoms will play against EWE Baskets in Oldenburg.
