Regular Season Round 27: Lukoil Academik - Chernomorets 87-53
Date: April 14, 2012
NBL top team - Lukoil Academik (24-3) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed eighth ranked Chernomorets (3-24) in Sofia 87-53. The game without a history. Lukoil Academik led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Chernomorets' players. It was a quality performance for the former international guard Andre Owens (193-80, college: Houston) who led the winners and scored 19 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Croatian center Bruno Sundov (221-80, agency: Alti Sport) accounted for 11 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. Five Lukoil Academik players scored in double figures. FYR Macedonian center Kiril Pavlovski (210-85, agency: Global Sports Plaza) came up with 16 points and 5 rebounds and Slovenian guard Dejan Dunovic (193-82, agency: Global Sports Plaza) added 11 points respectively for Chernomorets in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion maintains first place with 24-3 record. Chernomorets lost third consecutive game. They stay dead last with 24 lost games. Lukoil Academik will play against Balkan (#6) in Botevgrad in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Chernomorets will play at home against Rilski Sportist in Samokov and hopes to get back on the winning track.
