Leader Athlete Celje delivered the twentieth sixth victory on Saturday night. This time they crushed 6th ranked Jezica (8-19) 85-46 in Ljubljana. The game was mostly controlled by Athlete Celje. Jezica managed to win third quarter 22-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Jezica to just 7 points in first and second quarters and to 14 points in first half. Athlete Celje dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Jezica's 30 and had 26 for 35 from the free-throw line, while Jezica only scored one point from the stripe. Athlete Celje forced 19 Jezica turnovers and outrebounded them 53-25 including a 34-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Serbian guard Sanja Orozovic (184-90) stepped up and scored 20 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and Bosnian center Marica Gajic (192-95) chipped in 10 points and 18 rebounds. Five Athlete Celje players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Eva Rupnik (177-92) with 18 points and Nusa Klobucar scored 6 points and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Athlete Celje (26-1) have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain first place in Places 1-6. Jezica lost twelfth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 19 games lost. Athlete Celje will meet at home league's second-placed Triglav in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Jezica will play against Ilrija (#4) in Ljubljana and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
