Hope-GBA shocked Basel on the road to seal the semifinal ticket. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 22-13 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Hope-GBA dominated on the defensive end, holding Basel to just 3 points in fourth quarter and to 13 points in second half. Hope-GBA held Basel to an opponent 20.6 percent shooting from the field compared to 36.4 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Basel 46-34 including a 37-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for international guard Dorothee Studer (168-92) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Ljubica Cutunic (186-94) helped adding 15 points and 6 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American center Megan Skouby (193-86, college: Iowa) with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds and the other American import guard Colleen Hart (163-88, college: Tufts) scored 6 points and 5 rebounds. Basel's coach Ina Nicosia-Schelker rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help.
