Everything went according to plan when ninth ranked Gelisim (18-20) defeated 12th ranked Istanbul B.B. (16-22) in Izmir 87-83 on Friday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Istanbul B.B. won fourth quarter 27-23. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Center Fatih Kizilca (-92) orchestrated the victory by scoring 12 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Sertay Gursu (195-87) contributed with 12 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Gelisim players scored in double figures. Recep Dogrusoez (-86) replied with 25 points and 4 assists and forward Soner Sahin (202-84) added 14 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Istanbul B.B.Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Gelisim maintains ninth position with 18-20 record. Istanbul B.B. lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth place with 22 games lost.
