Very expected game when 13th ranked BBC Bayreuth (12-21) lost at home to fifth ranked Bayern Muenchen (21-12) 68-59 on Saturday. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 20-9. But BBC Bayreuth won second period 16-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Bayern Muenchen dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to BBC Bayreuth's 32. Bayern Muenchen forced 20 BBC Bayreuth turnovers. It was a good game for American forward Chevon Troutman (202-81, college: Pittsburgh, agency: ACMT) who led his team to a victory with 15 points and 7 rebounds. American-Bulgarian center Jared Homan (206-83, college: Iowa St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Bayern Muenchen's coach Dirk Bauermann used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Beckham Wyrick (198-83, college: NC-Wilmington, agency: Pro One Sports) answered with 16 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import forward Brandon Hunter (201-80, college: Ohio) added 15 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for BBC Bayreuth. Bayern Muenchen have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Newly promoted Bayern Muenchen maintains fifth place with 21-12 record. Loser BBC Bayreuth keeps the thirteenth position with 21 games lost. Bayern Muenchen will face Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (#10) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. BBC Bayreuth will play against the league's leader Brose Baskets in Bamberg.
