The game between closely ranked teams ended with eighth ranked Tofas' (14-15) home victory over 9th ranked Turk Telekom (12-17) in Bursa 83-71 on Saturday. The game without a history. Tofas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Turk Telekom's 34. Croatian center Jurica Zuza (207-78, agency: Alti Sport) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points. American swingman Austin Nichols (198-82, college: Humboldt St.) contributed with 11 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Tofas' coach Nihat Izic used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Nedim Yucel (203-79) answered with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds and the former international guard Muratcan Guler (192-80, agency: 1x1 Sports) added 14 points in the effort for Turk Telekom. Five Turk Telekom players scored in double figures. Tofas moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Aliaga. Loser Turk Telekom keeps the ninth position with 17 games lost. Tofas will face higher ranked Fenerbahce Ulker (#5) in Istanbul in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Turk Telekom will play at home against Trabzonspor (#15).
