Leader Lukoil Academik delivered the twentieth fifth win on Wednesday night. This time they crushed 6th ranked Balkan (9-19) 98-49 in Botevgrad. The game without a history. Lukoil Academik led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Balkan's 24. They outrebounded Balkan 43-27 including a 37-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Lukoil Academik looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Balkan's players. Croatian center Bruno Sundov (221-80, agency: Alti Sport) fired a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!) for the winners. American forward Lamont Mack (201-87, college: Charlotte) chipped in 20 points and 8 rebounds. Five Lukoil Academik players scored in double figures. Guard Dimitar Filipov (185-89) produced 14 points and forward Lubomir Lilov (198-87) added 9 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion maintains first position with 25-3 record. Balkan at the other side keeps the sixth place with 19 games lost.
