Regular Season Round 2: Leipzig - Ehingen 67-77

No shocking result in a game when top-ranked Ehingen/Urspringschule (2-0) defeated on the road bottom-ranked USC Leipzig (0-2) 77-67 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Ehingen/Urspringschule. USC Leipzig was better in fourth quarter 18-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Ehingen/Urspringschule made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American forward Andre Calvin (196-85, college: Drake) who scored 22 points and 8 rebounds. The other American import guard Virgil Matthews (188-83, college: Montana) chipped in 12 points and 4 assists. American center Chris Gadley (207-87, college: Canisius) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 14 rebounds and forward Walter Simon (202-89, college: Cumberland) added 17 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Ehingen/Urspringschule keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Goettingen. Newly promoted USC Leipzig still closes the standings with two games lost. Ehingen/Urspringschule will face Oettinger Rockets Gotha (#8) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. USC Leipzig will play against Duesseldorf Baskets (#11).
