Regular Season Round 2: Kirchheim - NBC 95-94

Date: October 3, 2012
A very interesting game took place in Kirchheim. It ended with only one-point defeat on the road of higher ranked NBC (1-1) to fourteenth ranked Kirchheim Knights (1-1) 95-94 in the game for the third place. Kirchheim Knights made 27-of-30 charity shots (90.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 23 NBC turnovers. 27 personal fouls committed by NBC helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The game was also dominated by American players. Guard Cedric Brooks (185-80, college: Pittsburg St.) notched 21 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals to lead the effort and point guard Chris Alexander (186-83, college: Southern) supported him with 18 points. Five Kirchheim Knights players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 27 points and 12 rebounds by power forward Ronald Thompson (208-81, college: Morehouse) did not help to save the game for NBC. Guard Tyrone Brazelton (185-86, college: W.Kentucky) added 29 points and 6 assists for the guests. NBC's coach Martin Ides tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Kirchheim Knights left bottom position moving up to third place, which they share with 10 other teams including defeated NBC. Kirchheim Knights' next round opponent will be BV Chemnitz 99 (#13) on the road and are hoping to win another game. NBC will play against Science City Jena (#6).
