No shocking result in a game in Langen where top-ranked Quakenbrueck Dragons (2-0) smashed bottom-ranked Rhein MB II (0-2) 73-49 on Saturday. The game without a history. Quakenbrueck Dragons led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Quakenbrueck Dragons outrebounded Rhein MB II 38-19 including a 14-3 advantage in defensive rebounds. Rhein MB II was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was Canadian center Hannah Sunley-Paisley (186) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds. Canadian guard Brittany Moore (168-89) chipped in 19 points. Kristin Annawald (184-93) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Pia Dietrich (168-94) added 15 points respectively for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Quakenbrueck Dragons keep a position of North leader, which they share with Berlin and Chemnitz. Newly promoted Rhein MB II still closes the standings with two games lost. Quakenbrueck Dragons will face Baskets Grunberg (#10) in Gruenberg in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Rhein MB II will play on the road against ASC Theresianum Mainz and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
