Regular Season Round 2: Rhein MB - Marburg 72-74

A very interesting game took place in Langen. It ended with only two-point home defeat of bottom-ranked Rhein Main Baskets (0-2) to tenth ranked BC Pharmaserv Marburg (1-1) 74-72 on Sunday evening. The guests were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. American guard Amanda Davidson (170-83, college: Indianapolis) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 4 steals. The other American import forward Samantha Baranowski (190-90, college: Maine) contributed with 11 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four BC Pharmaserv Marburg players scored in double figures. BC Pharmaserv Marburg's coach Aleksandra Kojic allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American forward Denise Beliveau (180-89, college: New Hampshire) replied with 15 points and 8 rebounds and international forward Stephanie Wagner (182-90) added 18 points in the effort for Rhein Main Baskets. BC Pharmaserv Marburg left bottom position moving up to fourth place, which they share with 5 other teams. Rhein Main Baskets at the other side still closes the standings with two games lost. BC Pharmaserv Marburg's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Osnabruck on the road and it may be the game of the week. Rhein Main Baskets will play against Herner TC (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
