Regular Season Round 3: Heidelberg - Crailsheim 100-85

An interesting game took place in Heidelberg, where higher ranked Crailsheim Merlins (1-2) lost to fourteenth ranked MLP Academics Heidelberg (1-1) in a road game 85-100 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 10-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 100-85. MLP Academics Heidelberg made 33-of-38 free shots (86.8 percent) during the game. The game was dominated by American players. MLP Academics Heidelberg left bottom position moving up to eighth place. Loser Crailsheim Merlins dropped to the ninth position with two games lost. They share it with 5 other teams. MLP Academics Heidelberg will meet bottom-ranked USC Leipzig (#16) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Crailsheim Merlins will play against the league's second-placed BG Goettingen (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
