Regular Season Round 6: Mykolaiv - Ferro-ZNTU 74-78

Date: October 7, 2012
Bottom-ranked Mykolaiv (0-3) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 78-74 loss to top-ranked Ferro-ZNTU (3-0) in Mykolaiv on Sunday evening. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. The game was dominated by American players. Forward Cameron Moore (208-90, college: UAB) scored 19 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Jeremy Chappell (191-87, college: Robert Morris) chipped in 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was swingman Dwayne Mitchell (196-82, college: La-Lafayette, agency: Interperformances) with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Josh Mayo (182-87, college: Ill.-Chicago, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) scored 17 points. Five Mykolaiv players scored in double figures. Ferro-ZNTU have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Budivelnyk. Loser Mykolaiv still closes the standings with three games lost. They share the position with BC Kyiv. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
