Regular Season Round 4: Sakalai - Nevezis 83-67
Date: October 10, 2012
The most surprising game was the first loss of Nevezis (1-1) in Vilnius on Wednesday night. Visitors were defeated by Sakalai (1-2) 83-67. The hosts trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 83-67. Sakalai forced 20 Nevezis turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Justas Sinica (203-85) who helped to win the game recording 14 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Center Ignas Ramasauskas (211-93) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Five Sakalai players scored in double figures. Sakalai's coach Romualdas Petronis used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Tony Bishop (201-89, college: Texas St., agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) replied with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds and Danish center Jonas Zohore Bergstedt (210-91) added 14 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Nevezis. Sakalai left bottom position moving up to eighth place, which they share with Neptunas. Nevezis at the other side dropped to the sixth position with one game lost. They share it with Pieno Zvaigzdes. Sakalai will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Nevezis will play at home against the league's second-placed Rudupis (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.
