Regular Season Round 4: S.Marciulionio - Perlas-MRU 91-77

Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Vilnius: S.Marciulionio (#8) and Perlas-MRU (#10). S.Marciulionio (3-1) won against visiting Perlas-MRU (2-2) 91-77. It looked good early as Perlas-MRU took an 9-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then S.Marciulionio had a 35-8 second period charge getting the lead and Perlas-MRU was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 77-91. The winners were led by guard Marius Pociukonis (190-82) who scored that evening 25 points and forward Osvaldas Olisevicius (200-93) supported him with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Five S.Marciulionio players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 22 points and 11 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) by forward Antanas Udras (202-92) did not help to save the game for Perlas-MRU. Power forward Mantas Virbalas (203-88) added 17 points and 9 rebounds for lost side. S.Marciulionio moved-up to second place, which they share with 5 other teams. Perlas-MRU at the other side dropped to the eighth position with two games lost. S.Marciulionio's next round opponent will be Triobet (#13) in Jonava which should be an easy win for them. Perlas-MRU's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Vilnius Statyba.
