An interesting game for BBC Bayreuth (4-0) which hosted in Bayreuth 3rd ranked EnBW Ludwigsburg (2-1). Top-ranked BBC Bayreuth managed to get a 12-point victory 94-82. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of EnBW Ludwigsburg. The game was mostly controlled by BBC Bayreuth. EnBW Ludwigsburg was better in second period 28-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when BBC Bayreuth won last quarter 27-16. BBC Bayreuth outrebounded EnBW Ludwigsburg 31-13 including a 22-10 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for BBC Bayreuth especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 58.8 percentage. EnBW Ludwigsburg was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Gary McGhee (208-88, college: Pittsburgh) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) and the other American import forward Beckham Wyrick (198-83, college: NC-Wilmington, agency: Pro One Sports) who added 19 points during the contest. BBC Bayreuth's coach Marco van den Berg allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side American guard Kammron Taylor (188-84, college: Wisconsin, agency: Edge Sports) responded with 23 points and international Lucca Staiger (196-88, college: Iowa St.) scored 19 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. BBC Bayreuth have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 4-0 record. EnBW Ludwigsburg at the other side dropped to the fourth place with one game lost. They share the position with 4 other teams. BBC Bayreuth will play against New Yorker Phantoms (#15) in Braunschweig in the next round which should be an easy win for them. EnBW Ludwigsburg will play on the road against Bayern Muenchen (#12) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
