Regular Season Round 3: Fraport SKY II - Noerdlingen 101-96 OT

Noerdlingen (#11) forced the game against Fraport Skyliners II (#5) into an overtime, but lost by five points 96-101. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Noerdlingen won third quarter 21-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where Noerdlingen used huge pressure winning it 33-24 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 12-17. Fraport Skyliners II brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. 26 personal fouls committed by Noerdlingen helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for point guard Konstantin Klein (187-91) who led his team to a victory with 26 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Danilo Barthel (207-91) contributed with 18 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 blocks for the winners. American guard Brandon Hogg (186-89, college: S.Indiana) answered with 34 points (!!!), 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and the other American import forward Kedrick Johnson (193-83, college: Lee) added 11 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists in the effort for Noerdlingen. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Fraport Skyliners II (2-1) moved-up to fourth place in Group South, which they share with Langen and Licher Baeren. Noerdlingen at the other side still closes the standings with three games lost. Fraport Skyliners II's next round opponent will be Licher Baeren (#6) on the road. Noerdlingen will play against TV 1862 Langen (#5) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
