Very significant was Utena's (#8) 72-68 road victory against bottom-ranked Jaunieji Talentai. The guests were ahead by 2 points but lost the second period ending it with a 6-point deficit before their 19-9 run, which allowed them to win the game. Utena forced 21 Jaunieji Talentai turnovers. Jaunieji Talentai was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Point guard Rita Milieskiene (175-78) notched a double-double by scoring 26 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals to lead the effort and the former international guard Egle Zygelyte (166-84) supported her with 14 points, 9 assists and 8 steals. Even 20 points and 8 rebounds by forward Dalia Belickaite (175-96) did not help to save the game for Jaunieji Talentai. Laura Juskaite (187-97) added 11 points and 17 rebounds for the hosts. Jaunieji Talentai's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Utena (1-1) left bottom position moving up to fourth place, which they share with Ruta Siauliai and Sirenos. Newly promoted Jaunieji Talentai still closes the standings with two games lost. They share the position with Suduva. Utena will play against league's second-placed Aistes-LSU in Kaunas in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Jaunieji Talentai will play on the road against Sirenos (#5) in Kaunas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
