Regular Season Round 3: Wulfen - SU Medien 95-83

The most surprising game was the first loss of undefeated Spot Up Medien Baskets (2-1) on the court of twelfth ranked BSV Wulfen on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by BSV Wulfen 95-83. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Spot Up Medien Baskets. The game was mostly controlled by BSV Wulfen. Spot Up Medien Baskets managed to win fourth quarter 27-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. BSV Wulfen made 30-of-39 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game, while Spot Up Medien Baskets only scored five points from the stripe. 27 personal fouls committed by Spot Up Medien Baskets helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for American center Anthony Young (200-89, college: Ky Wesleyan) who led his team to a victory scoring 34 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds. His fellow American import swingman Antonio Houston (196-88, college: Catawba) helped adding 28 points and 6 steals. The best for the losing side was Cuban swingman Howard Sant-Roos (198-91) with 17 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals and swingman Brian Wenzel (198-91) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. Four Spot Up Medien Baskets players scored in double figures. Spot Up Medien Baskets' coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. BSV Wulfen (1-2) left bottom position moving up to sixth place in Group North, which they share with 5 other teams. Spot Up Medien Baskets at the other side dropped to the fifth position with one game lost. They share it with BSW Sixers and Herten Lions. BSV Wulfen is looking forward to face league's second-placed SG Schwelmer Baskets on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Spot Up Medien Baskets will play against the league's second-placed SG Schwelmer Baskets and are hoping to win this game.
