Regular Season Round 3: Suduva - Fortuna 92-60

Undefeated Fortuna (2-1) recorded its first loss in Marijampole on Friday night. Visitors were rolled over by eighth ranked Suduva (1-2) 92-60. The game without a history. Suduva led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Suduva had a 19-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Ligita Kinkeviciene (173-76) who scored 17 points and 8 rebounds. Latvian forward Ieva Veinberga (183-84) chipped in 19 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Five Suduva players scored in double figures. Suduva's coach Stasys Zaliabarstis felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international swingman Lina Aglinskaite (182-87) who recorded 19 points and 6 rebounds and international point guard Gabriele Gutkauskaite (172-90) added 11 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Suduva left bottom position moving up to fifth place, which they share with Ruta Siauliai and Utena. Loser Fortuna dropped to the second position with one game lost. They share it with Aistes-LSU and Sirenos. Suduva will meet Utena (#6) on the road in the next round. Fortuna will play against the league's leader Kibirkstis-Tiche (#1) in Vilnius and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
