Regular Season Round 11: Ferro-ZNTU - Budivelnyk 97-78

There was a change at the Superleague leadership position after last games. Round 11 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Budivelnyk (5-1). They were crushed by fourth ranked Ferro-ZNTU (5-1) 97-78 on Friday night. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Budivelnyk. The hosts trailed by 6 points at the halftime before their 58-33 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Ferro-ZNTU made 19-of-21 free shots (90.5 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Budivelnyk turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Budivelnyk's players. It was a great evening for American R.T. Guinn (208-81, college: Baylor) who led his team to a victory scoring 28 points and 7 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). His fellow American import forward Cameron Moore (208-90, college: UAB) helped adding 19 points and 11 rebounds. Four Ferro-ZNTU players scored in double figures. Forward Sergiy Gorbenko (202-85) responded with 18 points (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) and American guard Malcolm Delaney (191-89, college: Virginia Tech) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Budivelnyk's coach Ainars Bagatskis rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Ferro-ZNTU moved-up to third place, which they share with defeated Budivelnyk. Budivelnyk will play next round against Kryvbasbasket trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Ferro-ZNTU will try to continue on its current victory against fourteenth ranked BC Kyiv at home.
