Regular Season Round 11: Azovmash - Hoverla 86-78

Rather expected game in Mariupol where 5th ranked Hoverla (4-3) was defeated by third ranked Azovmash (6-2) 86-78. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 26-11. But Hoverla won second period 27-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Azovmash made 26-of-31 charity shots (83.9 percent) during the game. 26 personal fouls committed by Hoverla helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Serbian center Miroslav Raduljica (213-88) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds. American point guard Lynn Greer (186-79, college: Temple) contributed with 21 points for the winners. Four Azovmash players scored in double figures. Azovmash's coach Aleksandar Kesar allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American power forward Travis Peterson (208-85, college: Samford, agency: Edge Sports) answered with 19 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import guard Patrick Sparks (184-83, college: Kentucky) added 14 points and 6 assists in the effort for Hoverla. Azovmash moved-up to second place. Hoverla at the other side dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
