Regular Season Round 3: Aistes-LSU - Utena 57-48

LMKL top team - Aistes-LSU (2-1) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat sixth ranked Utena (1-2) in Kaunas 57-48. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Utena won fourth quarter 13-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Aistes-LSU held Utena to an opponent 24.3 percent shooting from the field compared to 39.7 percent accuracy of the winners. It was a good game for power forward Laura Svaryte (190-92) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 16 rebounds. Forward Neringa Skadaite (184-92) contributed with 10 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Aistes-LSU's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. point guard Rita Milieskiene (175-78) answered with 12 points and 9 rebounds and power forward Kristina Palaimaite (191-81, college: Liberty) added 9 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Utena. Despite that victory Aistes-LSU went down to second position due to points difference, which they share with Fortuna and Sirenos. Utena at the other side dropped to the fifth place with two games lost. Aistes-LSU will have a break next round. Utena will play at home against Suduva (#7) in Marijampole and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
