Gmunden Swans (#10) forced the game against Raiffeisen Wels (#5) into an overtime, but lost by four points 103-107. The hosts were ahead by 1 point but lost the second period ending it with a 6-point deficit before their 33-27 run, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 17-13. Raiffeisen Wels made 34-of-39 charity shots (87.2 percent) during the game. Gmunden Swans were plagued by 35 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for the former international Davor Lamesic (205-83, agency: Interperformances) who led the winners and scored 25 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). American forward DeVaughn Washington (202-89, college: Ohio, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) accounted for 23 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. American forward Dan Oppland (203-84, college: Valparaiso, agency: SportsTalent) came up with 24 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and the other American import forward Robert Arnold (198-88, college: Boise St.) added 17 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Gmunden Swans in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Gmunden Swans' coach tested ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Raiffeisen Wels (2-1) moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Klosterneub. and Gussing. Gmunden Swans at the other side still closes the standings with three games lost. They share the position with Arkadia and St.Polten. Raiffeisen Wels will play against Arkadia Lions (#9) in Traiskirchen in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Gmunden Swans will have a break next round.
