We should mention about the upset which took place in Craiova, where higher ranked Rapid (2-3) was outleveled in a road game by eleventh ranked Craiova (3-3) 78-46. Craiova dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Rapid's 20. Craiova forced 27 Rapid turnovers and outrebounded them 45-31 including 30 on the defensive glass. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. The former international center Gabriela Toma (192-74) notched 11 points, 9 rebounds and 6 blocks to lead the effort and Serbian center Zorica Mitov (189-87) supported her with 8 points and 10 rebounds. Even 17 points by Moldovan guard Natalia Burlakova (175-84) did not help to save the game for Rapid. Power forward Raluca Ungureanu (180-80) added 9 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Craiova moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Alba Iulia. Rapid at the other side dropped to the eighth position with three games lost. Craiova's next round opponent will be league's leader Satu Mare on the road and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Rapid will play against Sf.Gheorghe (#5) in Sfantu Gheorghe.
