Not a big story in a game when 6th ranked Bad Aibling (1-2) was defeated at home by top-ranked TG Chooza Ladybaskets (3-0) 63-52 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 9 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 11 points. TG Chooza Ladybaskets forced 20 Bad Aibling turnovers. Strangely Bad Aibling outrebounded TG Chooza Ladybaskets 39-23 including a 15-4 advantage in defensive rebounds. Forward Raphaela Jochimczyk (180-90) fired 18 points and 4 steals for the winners. American guard Jocelyn Bailey (182, college: Delaware) chipped in 12 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Stefanie Polder (184-92) produced 9 points and 8 rebounds and American forward Alex Guyton (190-90, college: Purdue) added 9 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. TG Chooza Ladybaskets have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position in South with 3-0 record behind leader Berlin. Loser Bad Aibling dropped to the seventh place with two games lost. TG Chooza Ladybaskets will face TG 1889 Sandhausen (#8) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Bad Aibling will play against Gruner Stern Keltern and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
