Regular Season Round 2: Galatasaray - Aliaga 79-67

Round 2 in TBL means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Istanbul where host Galatasaray (2-0) beat league's leader Aliaga (1-1) 79-67 on Saturday evening. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by Galatasaray. Aliaga managed to win second period 18-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American guard David Hawkins (194-82, college: Temple) who scored 23 points and 8 rebounds. Serbian Milan Macvan (205-89, agency: INVICTUS Sports Group) chipped in 17 points and 4 assists. The former international forward Ersin Goerkem (195-77) produced 24 points and 7 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and naturalized Azerbaijani Orhan Haciyeva (200-89) added 13 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the guests. Galatasaray keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. Aliaga at the other side dropped to the fifth place with one game lost. They share the position with 7 other teams. They were replaced at the leadership position by Anadolu Efes. Aliaga will play next round against Antalya trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Galatasaray will try to continue on its current victory against first ranked Anadolu Efes in Istanbul.
