Regular Season Round 3: Fortuna - Aistes-LSU 86-79

There was a change at the LMKL leadership position after last games. Round 3 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Aistes-LSU (2-1). They were defeated by third ranked Fortuna (2-1) 86-79 on Saturday night. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Aistes-LSU. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The hosts trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 47-35 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Fortuna dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Aistes-LSU's 36. They outrebounded Aistes-LSU 44-27 including 18 on the offensive glass. It was a great evening for Monika Grigalauskyte (190-92) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international swingman Lina Aglinskaite (182-87) helped adding 20 points and 9 rebounds. Four Fortuna players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard Dovile Saurazaite (170-92) with 22 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and forward Jolanta Marmiene (181-79) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. Aistes-LSU's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Fortuna moved-up to second place, which they share with Aistes-LSU and Sirenos. Aistes-LSU will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest and make it back to the top of the standings. Fortuna will try to continue on its current victory against first ranked Kibirkstis-Tiche in Vilnius.
