Regular Season Round 3: Vestel - Baskent Genclik 73-58

There was no surprise in Manisa where bottom-ranked Baskent Genclik (0-3) was defeated by leader Vestel (3-0) 73-58 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Vestel. Baskent Genclik was better in third quarter 18-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Baskent Genclik 39-22 including a 30-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was forward Kerem Ozkan (201-88, agency: EM-PA) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds. American forward Justin Knox (205-89, college: N.Carolina) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds. Knox is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Admir Aziz Kan (185-83) who recorded 11 points and 6 assists and the former international forward Onur Aydin (203-79, agency: 1x1 Sports) added 10 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Vestel have a solid series of three victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Baskent Genclik still closes the standings with three games lost. Vestel will face Bandirma Kir. (#11) in Balikesir in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Baskent Genclik will play at home against Final Genclik (#16) in Bursa and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
