Regular Season Round 5: Falcon - Vaerlose 75-54
Date: October 20, 2012
An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Falcon. Third ranked Falcon faced 4th placed Vaerlose. Host Falcon (4-1) smashed guests from Vaerlose (2-3) 75-54. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Vaerlose. The game was mostly controlled by Falcon. Vaerlose managed to win third quarter 17-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American center Trenice Fuller (193-87, college: Hofstra) who had a double-double by scoring 12 points and 16 rebounds. Guard Sofie Vincents (171-87) chipped in 25 points. Center Rikke Fabricius (183-92) produced 16 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and American guard Alexandra Chili (180, college: Muhlenberg) added 10 points and 4 assists respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Falcon moved-up to second place, which they share with Lemvig. Vaerlose at the other side keeps the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with Horsholm and Amager. Falcon is looking forward to face league's leader SISU in Copenhagen in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Vaerlose will play at home against Amager in Kastrup and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
