Regular Season Round 6: Zanavykas - Gargzdai 82-67

Bottom-ranked Gargzdai-Bremena (0-6) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their sixth consecutive match to tenth ranked Zanavykas (4-2) 82-67. The game was mostly controlled by Zanavykas. Gargzdai-Bremena was better in third quarter 24-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Zanavykas dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Gargzdai-Bremena's 24. Guard Edgaras Stanionis (193-88) notched 31 points and 7 rebounds to lead the effort and forward Marijus Uzupis (197-93) supported him with 14 points. Zanavykas' coach Giedrius Zibenas allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 23 points and 7 rebounds by point guard Dominikas Matutis (180-91) did not help to save the game for Gargzdai-Bremena. Forward Marius Grigaitis (196-91) added 17 points and 9 rebounds. Zanavykas have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with 5 other teams. Gargzdai-Bremena at the other side still closes the standings with six games lost. Zanavykas will play against league's leader Meresta in Pakruojis in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Gargzdai-Bremena will play against Birstono (#14) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
