Regular Season Round 13: Azovmash - Kryvbasbasket 84-72

The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Azovmash as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Azovmash defeated 7th ranked Kryvbasbasket in Mariupol 84-72. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Kryvbasbasket. Kryvbasbasket was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Azovmash brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Kryvbasbasket was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard Manny Harris (196-89, college: Michigan) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and Serbian center Miroslav Raduljica (213-88) chipped in 21 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Four Azovmash players scored in double figures. At the losing side Serbian center Zoran Krstanovic (204-82, agency: TSS Management) responded with 22 points and 8 rebounds and American power forward Callistus Eziukwu (208-85, college: Grand Valley St.) scored 11 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Kryvbasbasket at the other side dropped to the eighth place with four games lost. Kryvbasbasket will play next round against BC Donetsk trying to get back on the winning streak. Azovmash will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Ferro-ZNTU at Zaporozhye.
